Sleepless night #4

That’s nothing new to me…I’ve done that before and last night it just happened. Reason? Ofcourse, I am not amongst the ones who will be watching back to back movies or some other ways and means of passing time! πŸ˜‰ Yeah – it was a night full of coding! πŸ˜€

With the semester about to get over and assignments pouring in, I had this task in front of me of solving the 8-puzzle problem using the A* search algorithm. Started of late at 10 pm and around 2 hours went in understanding the algorithm and formulating the data structures!

Starts codingΒ  at 12.30 — Compiles the code for the first time at 1.00 — More coding — More coding — More coding — Next compile after 5 hours at around 6 am (I can’t believe this, but it actually happened πŸ˜€ ) — hell lot of errors — debugging — debugging — segfaults(!) — valgrind to the rescue — 8.30 breakfast (Pohe + Chai) — thinks of having some rest — but goes back to the room and starts coding again — seg fault solved in 10 minutes — a couple of more errors within another 20 minutes — working code at 9 am!

Guess what, I got all the inspiration to do this after seeing this pic on Facebook πŸ˜€

You should start coding!

Yeah, and when I do, there is no stopping πŸ˜€

It was an awesome night! Wrote 500 lines of code! Had two hours of rest later. Bath. Lunch. And now, I’m already on the next assignment! Let the coding begin! πŸ˜€
